hmmm, you could make an anti-magic sage. they're the strongest type of mage out there.

It's important to choose which type of sage you're going to be. Sage is very different because there isnt just 1 type of build that's really good. Also, what about you making a different character your sage so in case you decide you dont like it, you can always go back to your wizzy...
